Internet of Things on Farm
IoT (Internet of Things) is a technological advancement that utilizes internet networks to operate various devices simultaneously but with easy control. This technology has been widely applied in many sectors such as transportation, weather detection, factories, warehousing, homes, and even modern cages.
In modern animal husbandry, a lot of equipment can be operated through the controller, such as exhaust fans, heaters, coolers, and even feed distribution systems. The controller gets input from various sensors which become data for operating the integrated drum equipment. The inputs obtained can be in the form of temperature, humidity, wind speed, ammonia levels, to the level of feed availability. In addition, the controller is also equipped with an alarm if a system fails to operate (malfunctions), the controller will sound an alarm. In this case, IoT plays a very important role. Alarms from the controller will be sent to the control center via the internet in real-time, so repairs can be made immediately.
The IoT system can also be integrated with other systems such as security systems, fire alarms, and also CCTV. That way, the operation and monitoring of farms to become efficient and make it easier to maintain cage equipment.
